What “Ghost Doctor” means to you:

• Unlicensed impersonators: People posing as physicians and performing procedures without proper credentials.

• Ghost surgery: The listed surgeon is absent or minimally involved while someone else (often less qualified) performs key parts of the operation. (This is the primary concern for most of our clients.)

• Credential misuse: A licensed doctor’s name is used on records/billing for work they did not perform.

Multiple outlets have cited the case as a high-profile example, when reports indicated alleged substitution and deception around who actually performed procedures, drawing public attention to gaps in clinic oversight, credential verification, and informed consent. It was an example of the care needed on the patient side to ensure proper care. She was not just damaged physically, but mentally, by the lack or oversight.
